Meeting With the Home Office

24 April 2008

In February, we met with the Home Office to discuss suggestions for improvements to the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act of 1986 (ASPA), which translates the EU Directive into law in the UK, and will therefore be reviewed in light of changes to the Directive. The ASPA goes further in some areas than the original Directive, but in some respects, other countries are ahead of us. We will be setting forth proposals for the Home Office, and hope to be able to influence any changes to the law in the UK during 2008.
