Tilin the baboon, and the five lions who were rescued by ADI following legislation banning all animal acts from Bollivian circuses, are now settling into brand new quarantine enclosures, in Cochabamba.
Along with five lions, also rescued by ADI from Circo Abuhadba, Tilin will remain in quarantine while we await the necessary permits to move them to their new homes. In a matter of months they will go their separate ways: Tilin will start a new life in a sanctuary which will cater for his needs in a way simply impossible in the circus. The lions, too, are headed for a brand new sanctuary in the US.

The move was successful, and Tilin is settling comfortably into his temporary home. Though he cannot know it, his journey is just beginning.

This new quarantine enclosure consists of individual night enclosures, and a recreation area allowing the animals to interact with each other; although at this stage the males remain separated from females. This is a truly historic development in the lives of these animals, never again will they be confined to the barren and cramped conditions of a beastwagon, as their journey to freedom continues.
