What is your position on vaccination?
We are not an anti-vaccination organisation, we are opposed to the development and testing of vaccines using laboratory animals.
Both living animals and their tissues have been used to produce vaccines for human use.
This has proved to be dangerous on two levels: first because of species differences and secondly because of the danger of contamination from unknown animal viruses.
Vaccines need to be developed and tested with sophisticated, human-based methods such as those described on the LDF section of the website. Nowadays, many viral vaccines such as polio, rubella, rabies, measles and smallpox can be produced in cultures from human cells.
