The National Anti-Vivisection, founded 1875
Our Mission:
To awaken the conscience of humanity in all parts of the world to the iniquity of experiments or processes causing suffering or distress to living creatures and to obtain legislation totally prohibiting all such experiments, and the breeding and supply of animals for such purposes. Pending the achievement of this aim, we may support partial measures which would provide steps towards abolition of vivisection. Millions of animals suffer and die in cruel and futile experiments. We campaign through public education, political lobbying, and publicity campaigns. We produce technical reports which reveal the errors of the animal-based method of research; we produce educational literature, books, films, and publicity campaigns which draw attention to the plight of laboratory animals; our undercover investigators work in laboratories to obtain first-hand evidence of animal suffering and poor scientific practice; we fund non-animal scientific and medical research. We have shown, through our own scientific research, that due to the physiological, structural, and psychological differences between species, animal experiments are unreliable, unethical, and unnecessary. Indeed, animal experiments can actually harm people, because of the misleading results which may be later applied to the human situation. We are opposed to violence to humans or to other animals.
Please help us end the abuse of animals, please make a donation today…
